001. MARKET OVERVIEW
Broad selloff hit crypto markets.
Cryptocurrencies fell broadly on October 23, 2026 as tech-stock weakness spilled over. The Nasdaq lost 2.60% on October 22, its steepest drop since early June 2026, and renewed AI-spending worries after Meta/Tesla earnings added pressure. Brent crude rose 4% to $113.17 per barrel, the highest since May 2026, on Middle East tensions.
2. BITCOIN DROPS TOWARD ETF COST BASIS
BTC fell 3.3%–4.2% over 24 hours.
At 08:00 KST, CoinMarketCap data showed BTC around $81,245, down 3.76% in 24 hours, the largest drop in about a month. Coinbase recorded $81,428.92, down 3.83%; other sources reported declines from 3.30% to 4.24%. The price is testing the roughly $81,500 average cost basis for US spot Bitcoin ETFs tracked by Glassnode, a level worth watching because it may affect institutional holders' sentiment.
3. ETH, SOL AND MAJOR ALTCOINS SLIDE
ETH, SOL and major alts fell in tandem.
ETH traded around $2,382, down 3.80%; SOL at $103.47, down 3.06%; XRP at $1.30, down 4.12%; BNB at $730.60, down 2.10%. Zcash (ZEC) led altcoin losses with a 9.20% drop, while HYPE fell 4.90%. The broad decline suggests risk-off flows across crypto assets rather than a Bitcoin-specific event.
4. LONG LIQUIDATIONS DOMINATE
Liquidation volume hit $329 million in 24 hours.
Coinglass data via TokenPost showed $329.13 million in liquidations across the top 20 assets, with longs accounting for $308.41 million, or 93.70%. Bitcoin led with $138.90 million liquidated (97% longs), followed by Ethereum at $88.86 million (90% longs). The concentration of long liquidations indicates leverage was heavily positioned for further upside before the selloff.
5. SENTIMENT AND FLOWS
Fear and Greed slips to neutral territory.
The CMC Fear & Greed Index fell to 48 from 54, marking neutral; another source reported 68 (Greed), so readings vary by methodology. Spot US Bitcoin ETFs recorded about $1.1 billion in net inflows this week through October 23, recovering after $909.6 million in outflows over the prior two weeks. Kimchi premium hovered at 0.96–1.22%. ETF inflows returning during a price dip could be viewed as a sign of institutional demand.
6. KEY DRIVERS AND TODAY'S FOCUS
US stocks, AI spending and oil pressured crypto.
Nasdaq fell 2.60%; Meta shares dropped about 7% after Q3 free cash flow turned negative at -$2.12 billion, reviving AI-capex concerns. Middle East tension lifted Brent crude to its highest since May 2026. Markets are also looking toward the FOMC meeting on October 27–28, 2026 for interest-rate cues.
Điều cần theo dõi hôm nay: FOMC meeting scheduled for October 27–28, 2026 is the next major macro event.
