00The trend of leaving crowded, stressful metropolitan cities to seek peace in nature—known in Vietnam as 'bo pho ve rung'—is gaining massive popularity among artists. One of the most inspiring examples of this lifestyle shift is singer Hoang Le Vi and her husband, renowned songwriter Truong Le Son. Seven years ago, the couple made the bold decision to leave the high-pressure entertainment scene of Ho Chi Minh City and relocate to the serene, misty hills of Da Lat, establishing a beautiful homestead located 30 kilometers from the city center.
For Hoang Le Vi, this move was a return to a simpler, more meaningful way of living. She personally designed their cozy wooden garden home, which features a minimalist aesthetic dominated by natural wood and bamboo elements. The property is surrounded by a sprawling orchard where the family grows their own organic fruit, including persimmons, guavas, avocados, mangoes, and jackfruit, alongside vibrant patches of roses and wild sunflowers. Doing all the gardening and housework herself without hired help, the singer finds immense peace in the rhythms of nature. 'Choosing family and simple living over fame has made my life incredibly light and joyful,' she shares.
This peaceful lifestyle has also served as a profound source of musical inspiration for Truong Le Son. Living close to nature has allowed him to compose beautiful, soulful songs dedicated to the mountain town, such as 'Da Lat vang em' and 'Vi yeu ma toi se o lai day'. The couple frequently hosts intimate acoustic music sessions in their garden, welcoming fellow musicians and friends to share songs under the pine trees. Their journey is a beautiful testament to how embracing a slower, nature-oriented lifestyle can rejuvenate both the soul and creative spirit.
