1. US – CHINA
XI JINPING HOLDS TALKS WITH TRUMP IN WASHINGTON
Chinese President Xi Jinping held a state visit to the U.S. and met President Donald Trump at the White House on 24 September. Xi called for translating the “new vision of a constructive China-U.S. relationship of strategic stability” into action and said artificial intelligence must remain under human control. Trump said AI/superintelligence was a major discussion topic. China’s Commerce Ministry said the 8th round of China-U.S. economic and trade consultations reached multiple consensuses.

NETANYAHU DEFENDS WAR; DOZENS OF DELEGATIONS WALK OUT

COALITION INTERCEPTS SIX HOUTHI MISSILES TARGETING TAIF, YANBU
The Saudi-led coalition said air defenses intercepted and destroyed six Houthi ballistic missiles targeting Taif and Yanbu on 24 September. Houthi forces claimed missile and drone attacks on Saudi military sites in Jazan. Saudi, Turkish and Pakistani foreign ministers met under the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement, condemning attacks on Mecca and civilian sites. President Emmanuel Macron announced France will deploy soldiers, radar and air-defense systems to protect the Red Sea oil port of Yanbu. RUSSIAN STRIKES KILL NINE IN UKRAINE, KYIV HIT
Ukrainian authorities said Russian missile and drone attacks overnight 23–24 September killed 9 people and wounded 25 across Ukraine, including a missile strike on Kyiv that killed 2 and wounded 8. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Russia and Ukraine have both expressed interest in a limited ceasefire covering grain shipments and energy infrastructure.

6. RUSSIA – EU ASSETS
KREMLIN CONDEMNS EU TRANSFER OF FROZEN ASSET REVENUES
Moscow called the EU’s transfer to Ukraine of revenues from frozen Russian assets “illegal” and “theft”. A Russian foreign ministry official said 8 billion euros has been transferred since 2024. No immediate EU response was reported in the sources compiled.

781 MIGRANTS CROSS ENGLISH CHANNEL IN SINGLE DAY

ZELENSKYY PUBLICLY DISCLOSES TRANSFER OF TWO NORTH KOREAN SOLDIERS
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at the UN that Ukraine recently transferred two captured North Korean soldiers to South Korea. According to Yonhap and KBS, Seoul had a private agreement with Kyiv and was caught off guard by the public disclosure. The disclosure may affect sensitive coordination between the two sides.
