00The 71st Miss World pageant concluded in Mumbai, India, with Krystyna Pyszková from the Czech Republic being crowned the new Miss World 2023. The stunning 1.81m tall beauty impressed the judges not only with her grace and intelligence but also with her extensive charitable work, including the establishment of her own foundation to provide quality education to children in Tanzania.
Representing Vietnam, Huynh Nguyen Mai Phuong performed admirably throughout the competition. Although she stopped at the Top 40, she achieved a significant milestone by winning the 'Multimedia Challenge' award, which earned her a direct spot in the Top 40. Throughout the event, Mai Phuong showcased her versatility, participating in various sub-competitions and representing Vietnam with pride and elegance.
The final night was a high-octane event featuring 112 contestants. The top 40 was announced after a series of performances, and the competition narrowed down to a Top 12, and then a Top 8, who participated in a challenging Q&A session. The Top 4 finalists included representatives from Trinidad and Tobago, Botswana, the Czech Republic, and Lebanon, who all delivered powerful, thought-provoking speeches on global social issues, including education and women's rights.
Krystyna Pyszková’s victory is a testament to her dedication to humanitarian causes. Fluent in four languages—English, Polish, German, and Slovak—and an advocate for sustainable forestry and children's education, she embodies the spirit of the 'Beauty with a Purpose' mission that defines the Miss World organization.
The pageant also highlighted the incredible talent and advocacy of all participants. While the final results may not have gone as expected for every fan, the event was a celebration of global unity and the positive impact that these young women are making in their respective communities. As we congratulate the new Miss World, we also celebrate the hard work and resilience of all the contestants, including Vietnam’s Mai Phuong, who continues to inspire.
