Hanoi’s Spectacular Astronomy Park Opens: A New Cultural Landmark in Ha Dong District

Hanoi residents have a new reason to celebrate as the highly anticipated Astronomy Park (recently renamed Music Park by the developer) has finally opened its doors to the public. Located within the Duong Noi Urban Area in the Ha Dong district, this 12-hectare park is a unique blend of science, art, and recreation. Although construction was completed in 2020, the park’s opening was delayed due to various administrative and planning issues. Now, just in time for the 2024 Lunar New Year, it has become a major attraction for families and fitness enthusiasts.

The park is designed around a central 6-hectare lake and features several space-themed zones that are both educational and visually stunning. Visitors can explore the Big Bang Square, the Zodiac Square, and the Milky Way Garden, which features intricate spiral paths decorated with ceramic mosaics. For children, the UFO Zone provides a futuristic playground, while models of planets and asteroids are scattered throughout the park to spark curiosity about the universe. Another notable feature is the 'Famous Scientists Garden,' which includes statues of iconic figures like Stephen Hawking, as well as replicas of the Moai statues from Easter Island.

The opening of the park has been a significant relief for the local community. Previously, residents had to exercise on narrow sidewalks, but they now have access to wide, tree-lined paths and outdoor exercise equipment. The park’s management has also ensured that the area is well-maintained, with security guards stationed at various points and plenty of trash bins to keep the environment clean. For 67-year-old resident Nguyen Nhu Thanh, the park is a 'breath of fresh air' that makes daily exercise much more enjoyable and safe.

While the park is currently operating on a temporary basis as the developer works to resolve remaining planning issues, it has already proven to be a vital asset for the Ha Dong district. Its unique theme makes it a standout destination in Hanoi, offering a space where science meets leisure.
