Travel Chaos: Tan Son Nhat Airport Crowded Ahead of Tet Holiday

As the Tet holiday approaches, Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City has become a hub of intense activity. On the 27th day of the lunar month, travelers faced significant crowds, with many arriving up to four hours early to ensure they could complete check-in procedures amidst the holiday rush. Long queues snaked hundreds of meters in front of airline counters, including major carriers like Vietnam Airlines and VietJet Air, as passengers prepared to fly home to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

Many travelers, anxious about potential delays or traffic congestion, opted for an early start. One passenger, Nguyen Hai Minh, shared his experience of arriving four hours before his flight to Chu Lai, noting that while the wait was long, it was necessary given the reports of airport overload and frequent delays. While the waiting areas were packed with exhausted travelers waiting for their departures, the scene was slightly more organized than previous days, with some areas even showing empty seats. Despite the fatigue and the stress of potential flight delays, the spirit of returning home for the most important holiday of the year remains the primary focus for thousands of passengers transiting through Tan Son Nhat.
