Kun Marathon HCMC: 2,000 Young Runners and Celebrities Light Up the Track

The streets of Ho Chi Minh City came alive with incredible energy as the Kun Marathon successfully gathered over 2,000 young runners aged 6 to 10. Held right in front of the historic Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens on Le Duẩn Street, this highly anticipated event served as an exciting prelude to the VPBank VnExpress Marathon Ho Chi Minh City Midnight. Designed to encourage physical fitness, resilience, and a love for sports from an early age, the 700-meter course featured four fun and challenging obstacles, including ball pits and crawl tunnels, which tested the determination of the young athletes.

What made the event even more memorable was the active participation of famous Vietnamese artists who came out to support and run alongside the children. Popular comedian Truong Giang, teen sensation Bao Ngoc, and young influencer Boi Boi took turns running with different age groups. They offered words of encouragement, helped children navigate the obstacles, and even carried tired runners across the finish line. 'The energy of these kids is absolutely amazing,' Bao Ngoc shared, noting that many families had lined up as early as 5:30 AM. The presence of these celebrities created a festive and joyful atmosphere, turning a simple race into an unforgettable community celebration.

Behind every young runner was a supportive family cheering from the sidelines. Many participants traveled from neighboring provinces like Binh Duong and Dong Nai to participate. Some kids stood out with creative outfits, such as 9-year-old Pham Huu Phuoc, who completed the race wearing a homemade cardboard dinosaur costume crafted with his father. For others, like 6-year-old winner Do Phan Duc Kien, the marathon was a chance to showcase their athletic talents.
