Spanning 252 square meters, this home was built to accommodate a three-generation family, balancing the needs of both the elderly and children. The architects faced the challenge of Bao Loc’s harsh climate—characterized by intense sun followed by prolonged, heavy rains. Their solution was to utilize traditional tiles not just for the roof, but as a primary material for walls and ventilation screens, allowing the house to effectively 'talk' to the weather.

The use of tiles evokes a deep sense of nostalgia, reminiscent of classic Vietnamese architecture that resonates with the older generation. Beyond aesthetics, the tile walls act as a double-layer skin, providing excellent sound insulation and thermal regulation. This innovative use of materials creates a breathable structure where air can flow freely through 'shutter' style tile arrangements. A large central light well and strategically placed gaps around the house ensure that every room is bathed in natural light and cooled by natural breezes, reducing the need for artificial cooling even in the heat of the day.

Inside, the Tile House focuses on privacy and connection. The living spaces are divided to ensure each family member has their own sanctuary while maintaining open common areas for family gatherings. Greenery is integrated into every corner, from the entrance porch to the private bedrooms, blurring the lines between the indoors and the natural surroundings.
