Discovering the Ancient Dragon Carvings of Diem Village Communal House in Bac Ninh

Nestled in the heart of Bac Ninh province, the Diem Village Communal House, also known as Dinh Diem or Diem Viem Xa, stands as a testament to Vietnam's rich architectural and cultural history. Built in 1692, this ancient structure is not just a place of worship but a living gallery of exquisite woodcarving art. The communal house is dedicated to the Tam Giang saints, Truong Hong and Truong Hat, heroes who assisted King Trieu Viet Vuong in defeating the Luong invaders during the 6th century. Interestingly, images of women are prominently featured, showing them in natural poses such as braiding their hair or leaning against bamboo branches. For over 300 years, the people of Diem Village have meticulously preserved these treasures.
