Hanoi has officially kicked off its tourism season with the vibrant 'Get on Hanoi 2024' program, a grand event designed to showcase the capital's unique blend of ancient tradition and modern innovation. Held in the scenic Tay Ho district, the event was attended by high-ranking officials, including Nguyen Van Phong, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Nguyen Dinh Khuyen, Chairman of the Tay Ho District People's Committee. The primary goal of this campaign is to promote Hanoi as a 'Safe - Friendly - Quality - Attractive' destination for both domestic and international travelers, contributing significantly to Vietnam's overall tourism growth and the socio-economic development of the capital.

The absolute highlight of the opening ceremony was a mesmerizing light performance featuring 300 high-tech drones. While perhaps smaller in scale than the massive Lunar New Year display, this performance was deeply intimate and symbolic for the local community. The drones painted the night sky with iconic images of the Tay Ho district, including the majestic Nhat Tan Bridge, delicate bách diệp lotus flowers, and the famous Nhat Tan peach blossoms. Thousands of spectators gathered around Trinh Cong Son Pedestrian Street, Lac Long Quan Street, and the West Lake Water Park entrance to witness the spectacle. To ensure a smooth experience for visitors, the organizers strategically arranged five parking areas near major landmarks like the Lotte Mall West Lake and the Tay Ho Cultural and Sports Center.

Beyond the aerial technology, the event featured a sophisticated 'semi-outdoor' epic art program and laser mapping technology. This performance brought together 50 professional actors and 150 local residents from the Nhat Tan ward, telling a powerful story of Hanoi’s heritage and its aspirations for the future. The integration of local citizens into the performance highlighted the community-driven nature of Hanoi's tourism initiatives.

Food enthusiasts were treated to a culinary journey at 15 specialized stalls. The festival showcased the best of Hanoi’s flavors, including Quang An lotus tea and the famous Phu Thuong sticky rice, which has been recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage. Other local favorites like salt coffee from Xuan La and traditional fish cakes from Xuan Dinh were also available for tasting. In addition to the food, the 'Get on Hanoi 2024' program featured traditional craft stalls showcasing Thuy Ung horn combs and Chuong village conical hats, alongside a travel photography exhibition titled 'Welcome Hanoi City.' This event serves as a comprehensive introduction to the rich cultural tapestry that makes Hanoi a must-visit destination in 2024.
