001. BITCOIN TUMBLES TO THE $75,000 ZONE
BTC fell to its lowest since mid-September. On Bitstamp, it dropped more than 6% to $75,463 and briefly traded below its 50-week SMA at $75,733. CoinMarketCap at 08:00 KST showed BTC down 6.18% at $75,662, while Coinbase at 07:00 KST had BTC down 5.47% at $75,704.46. The slide takes BTC back to levels last seen on Sept 16, signaling short-term sentiment deterioration.
2. ETH AND MAJOR ALTCOINS FACE HEAVY SELLING
ETH fell more than 8%, SOL lost over 6%. CoinMarketCap data had ETH down 8.46% to $2,221.73 and SOL down 6.62% to $89.52. XRP dropped 7.22% to $1.21, while BNB fell 4.78% to $686.88. TokenPost noted DOGE down 5.18% and HYPE down 6.41%, but TRX only slipped 0.70%. The broad-based selling shows investors cutting risk across crypto, not just in Bitcoin.
3. LEVERAGED LONGS LIQUIDATED NEARLY $1 BILLION
Long positions were hit hard in the US session. CoinGlass reported nearly $500 million in liquidations in the first hour of the US session, with 24-hour totals nearing $850 million. The Block, citing CoinGlass, put 24-hour derivative liquidations at about $1.09 billion, affecting roughly 211,000 traders, mostly longs. The cascade of liquidations likely amplified the sell-off and may keep short-term volatility elevated.
4. US STOCKS LED THE CRYPTO SELL-OFF
Nasdaq lost 5.5%, AI names led declines. On Nov 5 local time, the Nasdaq Composite fell about 5.5%, the S&P 500 about 4.4%, and the Dow about 3.4% after Democrats swept the US midterms, raising concerns over AI data center regulation. Oil rebounded with WTI back above $90 per barrel and Brent near $97 per barrel. The equity shock is the main catalyst behind crypto's slide.
5. SOUTH KOREAN MARKET SHOWED LESS PANIC
Bithumb recorded a small kimchi premium. At 08:00 KST, BTC traded near 102,920,000 KRW, roughly $75,843, down 2.58% over 24 hours, with a kimchi premium of just 0.34%. The narrow premium suggests domestic flows were less panicked than international markets.
What to watch today: US equity market reaction on Nov 6 after Nasdaq's sharp decline.
