00Travelers in Central Vietnam no longer need to journey all the way to the northern highlands of Ha Giang to witness the ethereal beauty of buckwheat flowers (Tam Giac Mach). A stunning 1,500-square-meter flower garden in the Ca Ban eco-village, located just 3 kilometers from Tam Ky City in Quang Nam province, has become a viral sensation among local youth and photography enthusiasts. The garden, situated along the picturesque Tam Ky River, features a vibrant mix of buckwheat, cosmos, and sunflowers, creating a landscape that many visitors describe as 'a slice of Ha Giang in the heart of Quang Nam.'
The project is the brainchild of ThS Trieu Thy Hoa, a lecturer at Quang Nam University, who began cultivating the garden in early January. Growing buckwheat in the central region presented significant challenges due to the stark difference in climate; the heat and heavy rains of Quang Nam are far from the cold, dry conditions of the northern mountains. However, through meticulous care and experimental techniques, the flowers have flourished, blooming just in time for the spring season. The garden now attracts around 200 visitors daily, many of whom rent professional photographers to capture romantic moments amidst the white and pink petals. For many locals, like Vo Thi Tinh, the garden offers a unique opportunity to experience a famous northern specialty without the long-distance travel.
This successful model of agricultural tourism not only provides a beautiful backdrop for social media photos but also boosts the local economy of the Ca Ban eco-village. Professional photographers in Tam Ky have seen a surge in bookings, with packages ranging from 800,000 to 1 million VND per session. As the sunflowers begin to bloom alongside the buckwheat, the garden is expected to reach its peak beauty through the end of March. This initiative highlights the potential for creative tourism in Quang Nam, blending traditional agriculture with modern lifestyle trends to create a must-visit destination for anyone traveling through the region.
