00In the world of cinema, intimate scenes are often used to drive the plot or showcase character passion. However, several prominent Vietnamese actresses, including Hong Diem, Midu, Huyen My, and Minh Khue, have made a firm decision to say no to "hot scenes" on screen. Each of these talented women has her own compelling reasons, ranging from family values to maintaining a specific public image.
Renowned actress Hong Diem recently made her screen comeback in the television drama "Tram cuu ho trai tim" (Heart Rescue Station). Despite playing the wife of co-star Quang Su, she maintained her strict rule against filming explicit scenes. Throughout her successful acting career, Hong Diem has famously avoided kissing scenes entirely, limiting physical contact to simple hugs. She attributes this boundary to her commitment to her family and her husband. Although her husband does not work in the entertainment industry, she understands his personality and proactively avoids potential conflicts to protect their marriage. In past projects like "Huong duong nguoc nang" (Sunflowers Against the Sun), she even used clever camera angles and hand placement to simulate a kiss with co-star Doan Quoc Dam.
For beloved actress and lecturer Midu, avoiding intimate scenes is a matter of preserving her pristine reputation. Midu believes that once a bold scene is uploaded to the internet, it remains there forever. She once turned down a major role in a horror film because she felt the integral hot scenes did not align with her personal brand.
Similarly, Runner-up (Á hậu) Huyen My declined a role in the movie "Loi nguyen gia toc" (The Family Curse) because the required intimate scenes did not fit her image as a beauty queen. Meanwhile, actress Minh Khue has also expressed her discomfort with explicit content. During a recent project, she requested the production team to heavily modify and tone down an assault scene to avoid explicit details, stating her intention to refuse all future intimate roles. These actresses prove that talent and compelling storytelling do not always require explicit content, earning respect from audiences for staying true to their personal values.
