The Tao Dan Spring Flower Festival is one of Ho Chi Minh City's most anticipated annual cultural events, celebrating the rich traditions of the Vietnamese Lunar New Year (Tet). The 44th edition of this spectacular festival, themed 'Xuân yêu thương, Tết sum vầy' (Spring of Love, Tet of Reunion), officially opened at Tao Dan Park, attracting thousands of locals and international tourists alike. Running from February 6 to February 15 (corresponding to the 27th day of the last lunar month to the 6th day of Tet), the festival offers an immersive experience into the heart of Vietnamese spring celebrations.

For international travelers visiting Vietnam during Tet, the Tao Dan Spring Flower Festival provides a perfect introduction to local customs. The entrance fee remains highly accessible at just 30,000 VND for adults, while admission is completely free for children under 12 years old. This family-friendly pricing makes it an ideal spot for families to gather, stroll among the blooms, and capture beautiful holiday memories.

As you enter the festival grounds, you are welcomed by magnificent displays designed to celebrate the Year of the Dragon (Giap Thin). At the Truong Dinh street entrance, visitors are greeted by a stunning 3-meter-tall mascot depicting the legendary 'Carp turning into Dragon' (Cá chép hóa rồng), symbolizing growth, prosperity, and resilience for the new year. Throughout the park, modernly stylized dragon models wind through vibrant flower beds, creating a picturesque fusion of folklore and contemporary art.

One of the main draws of the festival is its specialized exhibition zones. Horticulturists and artisans from across the country travel to Saigon to showcase rare and unique specimens. Visitors can explore dedicated sections for ornamental desert roses, golden apricot blossoms (Hoa Mai), tropical and temperate plants, artistic stones, and masterfully shaped miniature landscapes (Bonsai).

Among the most talked-about highlights this year is the extraordinary 'Cửu Long Tranh Châu' sculpture collection by artisan Nguyen Truong Tiến. Hand-carved from massive, single-piece dry tree roots, this collection features a masterpiece officially recognized by the Vietnam Records Organization as the largest dry root sculpture in the country. This incredible work of art is currently valued at an impressive 7.9 billion VND. In addition to the botanical and artistic displays, the festival also hosts a traditional bird-singing competition, adding a lively natural soundtrack to the festive atmosphere. Whether you are a photography enthusiast, a nature lover, or a traveler looking to experience authentic Tet traditions, the Tao Dan Spring Flower Festival is a must-visit destination in Ho Chi Minh City.
