Gen Z Couple in Hai Phong Builds Dream 1.8 Billion VND Home Before Age 25

The trend of young professionals achieving homeownership early is gaining momentum in Vietnam, as exemplified by the story of Luong Hoai Nam and his wife. Both born in 1999, the Gen Z couple from Hai Phong recently went viral for sharing their newly completed 3-story home. After five years of marriage and raising two daughters, they achieved their 'ra rieng' (moving out) KPI just before turning 25. The house, which spans over 200 square meters and features two street fronts, was built with a total investment of 1.8 billion VND. This includes 1 billion VND for the land and approximately 800 million VND for construction and interior design. Remarkably, the couple self-funded the majority of the project, only borrowing a few hundred million from relatives.

Architecturally, the house embraces a modern, minimalist aesthetic with a dominant color palette of black, white, and gray. The interior is designed with an open-space concept, utilizing recessed LED lighting to create a youthful and spacious feel. The first floor houses the living room, kitchen, and garage, while the second floor contains two bedrooms. The third floor is dedicated to a worship room and a rooftop terrace perfect for family BBQ parties. Hoai Nam, who works in the tech industry, and his wife, an online entrepreneur, shared that their secret was simple hard work and financial discipline. While the post received over 16,000 likes, it also sparked a humorous 'pressure' among other Gen Z users who are still working toward their goals. Nam maintains that his intention was simply to share his family's joy and inspire others that with consistent effort, significant milestones are achievable at any age.
