1. COLDEST MATTER CREATED ON TIANGONG STATION
On 06/11/2026, a team from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peking University and Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics reported in Science that they cooled a cloud of rubidium atoms to 9.7 picokelvin, about 9.7 trillionths of a degree above absolute zero. The experiment used an ultracold atom facility on the Mengtian module of the Tiangong space station, breaking the previous 38 picokelvin record; the cloud was observed expanding for seven seconds. Methods included all-optical trapping, evaporative cooling and non-adiabatic expansion in microgravity.

2. CERN REPORTS RAREST PARTICLE DECAY EVIDENCE
The LHCb collaboration at CERN, led by a University of Cambridge group, announced on 03/11/2026 that it obtained evidence from a single experiment for the decay of B0 mesons into muon-antimuon pairs. The process is predicted to occur about once in 10 billion particles and has been sought for more than 40 years. The result points to possible new physics at the zeptometre scale, sometimes called a 'zeptoverse', millions of times smaller than a proton.

3. 'JIUZHANG 4' QUANTUM COMPUTER SETS SPEED RECORD
On 02/11/2026, the Jiuzhang 4 prototype led by the University of Science and Technology of China received a pioneering technology award at the World Internet Conference in Wuzhen, Zhejiang. For a Gaussian boson sampling problem, the machine generated one sample in 25 microseconds, while the El Capitan supercomputer would need more than 10^42 years for the same task; the reported speed is about 10^54 times faster than the fastest supercomputer.

4. AI HELPS PROVE AARONSON-AMBAINIS CONJECTURE
On 07/11/2026, Physical Superintelligence (PSI) said an Anthropic AI model that has not been publicly detailed proved the Aaronson-Ambainis conjecture, first proposed in 2008, in just three days. According to the published result, exponential quantum speedup requires the problem to have special structure or rules. Details of the AI model remain officially unconfirmed.

5. AI DRAWS FIRST 3D STRUCTURE OF BACTERIAL VAULT
On 04/11/2026, Anthropic's biology research team announced that the Claude model produced the first 3D structure of a vault particle in prokaryotes. The finding is described as solving a roughly 40-year-old biological puzzle about this mysterious structure.

6. AIMS TELESCOPE SEES MAGNETIC FIELD CHANGE DURING SOLAR FLARE
A team from the National Astronomical Observatories of China used the AIMS telescope at Lenghu, Qinghai, to capture the spectrum of an X1.5-class solar flare for the first time. The observation shows a clear weakening of the Sun's lower atmosphere magnetic field during the impulsive phase. The result was verified with a dynamic flare atmosphere model; the report was presented on 04-05/11/2026, with the paper published in Nature Astronomy on 23/10/2026.

7. REAL-TIME TWO-WAY TRANSMISSION OVER 1,007 KM HOLLOW-CORE FIBRE
China Telecom Research Institute, YOFC and ZTE completed a real-time two-way transmission trial over a 1,007.48 km hollow-core fibre. The system achieved 800 Gb/s on a single wavelength with PCS-16QAM modulation and total capacity of 128 Tb/s. Latency over 1,000 km was recorded at 3.43 ms, about 30 percent lower than solid-core fibre; the announcement was made on 02/11/2026 and reported by CCTV on 07/11/2026.

8. QUALCOMM UNVEILS FIRST 6G TERMINAL PROTOTYPE
On 06/11/2026 at the 9th China International Import Expo in Shanghai, Qualcomm displayed the world's first 6G terminal prototype compliant with the latest 3GPP definition. It is the first time the prototype has left the laboratory; the company aims to commercialise 6G by 2029.

9. 115-MILLION-YEAR-OLD DINOSAUR RED BLOOD CELLS DISPUTED
A study published in PNAS on 02/11/2026 led by Professor Kliti Grice from Curtin University found small round structures resembling red blood cells and traces of heme in a hindlimb bone of the carnivorous dinosaur Aratasaurus museunacionali from northeastern Brazil. The authors suggest these may be fossilised red blood cells about 115 million years old. Professor Mary Schweitzer from North Carolina State University is not convinced they are true red blood cells but values the heme and collagen amino acid evidence. This remains a scientific debate.

10. FIRST GREEN WHITE DWARF STAR IDENTIFIED
A team led by Mark Hollands from the University of Warwick calculated perceived colours of white dwarfs from Sloan Digital Sky Survey spectra. WD J1330+6435, about 280 light-years from Earth, has atmospheric sodium that absorbs orange light, leaving a chartreuse yellow-green colour, making it the first known green white dwarf. The study also identified white dwarfs in pink, purple, yellow and blue-green; it was reported on 04/11/2026 in RAS Techniques and Instruments.

11. CHILEAN ASTRONOMER FINDS 52 HIDDEN DISTANT GALAXIES
An international team led by Victoria Catán from the Millennium Nucleus of Galaxies - MINGAL and the Catholic University of Chile discovered 52 very distant galaxies with large cold gas reservoirs in the early universe. These galaxies had been missed by traditional optical observation methods; the findings were announced on 04-05/11/2026.

12. FIRST MEASUREMENT OF NUCLEAR PROCESS IN DYING STAR
On 06/11/2026, IFIC researchers from CSIC and the University of Valencia at CERN's n_TOF experiment reported in Physical Review Letters that they measured the neutron capture probability of niobium-94 for the first time. The result helps explain excess molybdenum-94 in presolar dust grains, filling a gap in understanding how dying stars produce heavy elements.

13. NEUTRINO TELESCOPE KM3NeT/ORCA TESTS EINSTEIN'S THEORY
Research published on 04/11/2026 analysed 5,828 atmospheric neutrino events recorded by the KM3NeT/ORCA detector beneath the Mediterranean Sea. The aim was to test principles of Einstein's theory of relativity for neutrinos, often called the universe's 'ghost particles'.

14. PNNL USES AGENTIC AI TO DEVELOP RADIATION-HARDENED CHIPS
On 07/11/2026, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) of the US Department of Energy said the SciLink multi-agent AI system analyses radiation damage in AlGaN/GaN devices and cuts analysis time to a few hours. The approach aims to accelerate development of radiation-hardened chips for satellites and nuclear reactors.

15. AI ROBOT LINE MAKES 50,000 PEROVSKITE SOLAR CELL COMPONENTS
On 06/11/2026, Peking University announced a closed-loop line of 11 robot stations: AI models propose material recipes and fabrication conditions, robots build cells, and data feedback refines the next cycle. The system has produced 50,000 perovskite solar cell components. In parallel, the Shanghai AI Laboratory, Yazhouwan Laboratory and China Agricultural University unveiled GeneScientist, an autonomous scientific discovery system for breeding that confirmed dozens of previously unpublished gene functions in rice and maize.

16. REAL-TIME QUANTUM TUNNELLING OBSERVED IN GRAPHENE
On 05/11/2026 in Nature, scientists from the University of Regensburg, University of Marburg and Jülich Research Centre in Germany reported combining lasers with electron microscopy to track in real time electrons tunnelling through the band gap in graphene. Tunnelling probability was recorded at up to 100 percent.
