00The anticipation for the 71st Miss World pageant is reaching a fever pitch, and five exceptional contestants have already secured their spots in the grand finale. These outstanding women earned their fast-track placements by winning the highly competitive Head to Head Challenge, a segment designed to test the contestants' public speaking, intellect, and advocacy skills. This year's winners represent a beautiful blend of intelligence, grace, and a deep commitment to humanitarian work.
Dominating the challenge were three brilliant delegates from the African continent. Leading the pack is Lesego Chombo, Miss Botswana 2022. The 26-year-old attorney, who holds a law degree from the University of Botswana and practices at the High Court, captivated the judges with her sharp, articulate presentation. Outside her legal career, Chombo runs an impactful project that supports underprivileged children by organizing educational, musical, and artistic workshops, alongside providing essential medical checkups and recreational outings.
Joining her is Ada Eme, the 25-year-old representative from Nigeria. Standing at an impressive 1.82 meters tall, Ada works as an event organizer and creative director for The Peng Events & Sand Dredger. She is currently studying peace and conflict resolution with the ultimate goal of working for the United Nations. Her Miss World Beauty with a Purpose project, 'Ada Goes to School,' has already made a tangible difference by providing 100 educational scholarships to children from low-income families.
Completing the trio of African winners is Nokutenda Shekinah Marumbwa from Zimbabwe. At just 21 years old, this talented model is studying Social Work at the University of Zambia. Nokutenda is deeply involved in community outreach programs aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable and marginalized communities in Zimbabwe, using her platform to empower young women to chase their dreams.
Representing Europe in the top five is Jessica Ashley Gagen from England. The 27-year-old is a standout candidate with an incredible academic background, having graduated with a bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Liverpool. Jessica's passion for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) led her to be invited by NASA as a keynote speaker at the Ascend conference in Las Vegas. She plans to pursue a master's degree and uses her platform to inspire young girls to enter scientific fields through educational documentaries.
Rounding out the top five is Yasmina Zaytoun, the sole Asian representative in this group. The 21-year-old journalism student was crowned Miss Lebanon 2022. Standing at 1.68 meters tall, Yasmina is a highly respected advocate, serving as an ambassador for both the Children's Cancer Center and the Lebanon Food Bank. Known for her intelligence and eloquence, Yasmina's transition to the Miss World stage has been widely praised by pageantry experts who value her brainpower and philanthropic heart.
