The Strange Reality of the Music Park in Hanoi

The Do Nghia Music Park in Ha Dong, Hanoi, designed to resemble a giant guitar, was built with an investment of 200 billion VND and inaugurated in 2019. After being closed for five years due to project violations, the park has finally reopened to the public. However, visitors have been met with a series of bizarre scenes that leave many scratching their heads.

Despite its size of 5.94 hectares, the park remains largely empty during peak afternoon hours. A major point of contention is the excessive number of warning signs—nearly 40 of them—tacked onto trees, which create a cluttered and unwelcoming atmosphere. Residents have complained about confusing signs warning of 'danger' in children's play areas, while other areas are marred by tattered, peeling paper warnings that say 'Do not touch the exhibits.' Furthermore, the park's landscaping is suffering, with withered grass and neglected statues that are either damaged or covered in spam advertisements. Even the park's central guitar feature remains incomplete and lifeless, failing to live up to its potential as a vibrant community space.
