001. BTC RECLAIMS $86,000 FOR FIRST TIME SINCE LATE JANUARY
Bitcoin crossed back above $86,000. CoinMarketCap at 8:30 a.m. KST on Sept 22 showed BTC at $86,435, up 6.50% in 24 hours; another source cited $86,580, up 6.63%. HTX data showed a brief move above $87,000 before settling around $86,400. Coinbase at 1:30 p.m. ET on Sept 21 had BTC at $85,895, up about 5.75%. This is the first time BTC has traded in this range since late January; it remains more than 30% below its all-time high of $126,210.5 set on Oct 6, 2025. BTIG noted a hold above $75,000 could open a path toward $90,000.
2. ETHEREUM GAINS, BUT SOURCES SHOW DIVERGENT 24H NUMBERS
Ethereum followed the broader uptrend. Coinbase data placed ETH at $2,750, up 4.55% over 24 hours; Newsis reported $2,777, up 5.19%; HTX showed a brief break above $2,800 before ETH traded around $2,774. Conversely, CoinMarketCap at 8:30 a.m. KST cited ETH around $2,769, down 0.22% in 24 hours. The divergence likely reflects timing or venue differences, so short-term ETH percentages should be read with caution.
3. SOL AND XRP LEAD THE ALTCOIN PACK
Solana and XRP posted the strongest gains. CoinMarketCap at 8:30 a.m. KST on Sept 22 showed SOL up 7.03% to $118.52, XRP up 9.01% to $1.53, BNB up 3.43% to $799.04, and HYPE up 0.02% to $93.60. Newsis cited XRP up 10.17% to $1.55 and SOL up 7.82% to $119. Total altcoin market cap excluding BTC (Total2) rose from $1.03 trillion to $1.17 trillion over the past week, a gain of more than 13.5%. This broadening suggests risk appetite is rotating into large-cap altcoins, with XRP's near-double-digit move the standout.
4. TOTAL MARKET CAP AND MACRO DRIVERS SUPPORT RALLY
Crypto market cap reclaimed $3 trillion. HTX data showed total market cap up 5.4% in 24 hours to $3.042 trillion; FxPro estimated the total at $2.8 trillion, its highest since late January. WTI oil fell 4.5% to $95.78 a barrel and Brent fell 3.4% to $100.34; the 10-year Treasury yield eased to 4.972%. US regulators are advancing digital-asset rules, including SEC approval of a five-year exemption for tokenized US stock trading on qualified exchanges. Optimism ahead of a Trump-Xi summit also helped sentiment. This mix of easing energy prices, lower yields and regulatory progress gives the advance a broader foundation than a speculative pop.
5. SENTIMENT GREEDY, BUT KOREAN PREMIUM GOES REVERSE
Greed readings climbed as stocks rallied. The CMC Fear & Greed Index stood at 80, in greed territory; Newsis cited a reading of 70, also greed. South Korea showed a reverse kimchi premium: -1.62% on the Upbit premium index and -1.64% for BTC kimchi premium, meaning local prices were slightly below global levels. Related equities rose: Strategy +9.47%, Coinbase +3.50%, Circle +2.78%, BitMine Immersion +8.66%, SharpLink Gaming +6.74%. The negative premium is notable because it suggests domestic Korean demand has not overheated even as global risk appetite improves.
What to watch today: Whether BTC can hold above $75,000 and react around $87,000 to confirm a possible move toward $90,000.
